This was an independent feature made for the BFI and one of the few British documentaries to have a theatrical distribution.  A hugely successful documentary in which real people acted out events from their lives. The usage of real people as actors was very  controversial at the time.  1976 (75’)

Possibly the greatest service Francis' film renders to the industry is to fill out some of the characters behind the kind of political protest we all get, in 10 second bursts, from grimy helmeted figures on newscasts.  Here one sees that behind a 'grievance' there are grieving people.  (The Observer)
