Written by G.F. Newman of Law and Order fame, and directed by Karl Francis this 1991 film is set in the future of British politics when an underclass is controlled by a vicious Tory government run by paedophile politicians in a cover up not dissimilar to the Shoot to Kill policy in Northern Ireland uncovered by John Stalker. Riddled with dubious legal and political opposition it is to the credit of BBC Wales and producers Ruth Calkeb and Ruth Kenley Lettes that the film was finally completed. The actors in 1996 were Keith Barron and Alun Armstrong.
If Newman had invented it all from scratch, you would never believe it, and that may be his main point: in this world of official buggers, burglars and bunglers the step from what we know has happened to what we fear might, is smaller than we think. (Guardian)
